Security – Confidentiality - Interoperability
e-sharing facilities and human resources, must meet strict requirements for access, operations security and interoperability.
Access security guarantees data confidentiality, operations security is required for 7-7/24-24 service and interoperability is mandatory for data sharing between professionals of health care in a heterogeneous environment.
The DICOM standard which governs the format and exchange protocol of medical images produced by digital imaging sources (Scanner, MNR, Radiology, Ultrasounds...), ensures the interoperability between imaging systems.
Finally IHE environment (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise)/XDS-I (documents sharing between health care professionals) constitutes a normative framework recognized to ensure interoperability between hospital information systems.
